Princess Honey and the Bee-Hive

New Story for you to illustrate, or read.

Princess Honey, like all princesses, lived in a beautiful castle. She had servants and beautiful clothes and a big beautiful pink bed. She played with her toys and the princess was very happy.

One day as Princess Honey was playing with her dolls, a bee flew into her room. He flew right up to Princess Honey. She screamed, “AAAHHHH. A bee! A bee! I cannot be stung by a bee.” The bee stopped buzzing and asked “Don’t worry I won’t sting you. It’s just I smelled something so sweet like, honey?”

Princess Honey answered “Well my name is Honey, Princess Honey in fact which is why I can’t be stung by a bee. It’s Rule 274.” said Princess Honey.

“Rules?” asked Bee.

“Yes rules. They’re called the “Princess’ Rules” and every princess lives by these rules”.

“Well, what are some of the other rules?” asked Bee.

“Well…” the Princess started “Rule number one is that a princess may not be dirty. She must always be clean. Rule two a princess must wear pink. Three, she must be pretty and always wear a bow in her hair. Four, she is not allowed to go outside at all, including to play with others, because she might break rule number one and get dirty. Rule five....”

“Wait, you’ve never been outside?” asked Bee.

“Well, I’ve been on the patio but no not passed the castle. Outside there are bugs and dirt.” The Princess answered.

“You must come outside. You must see the lush green grass. Feel the sun on your skin. ” Said Bee.

“You make it sound so beautiful, but I don’t think so. Besides you might sting me, and a princess cannot be stung by a bee.”

“I promise I won’t sting you. Will you come with me?”

The Princess nodded her head and Bee quickly flew out the window. “Follow me.” He shouted.

“I can’t go out the window.” said Princess Honey.

So Bee and Princess Honey crept out of her room. Bee flew ahead and came back. “Okay the coast is clear.” Bee said. Honey and Bee tip-toed out into the hallway. They walked passed the kitchen. They walked passed the dining room. And quietly they walked passed the guards. Princess Honey opened the door and walked outside. “It’s so beautiful out here. Just like you said, Bee.”

“Would you like to see where I live?” asked Bee. Honey nodded. The bee flew forward into a field and Honey ran after him. She ran and ran. She ran so far that the castle looked so small behind her. Suddenly, she came to a tree and in the tree was a bee-hive. “This is where I live.” said Bee. “It’s so small. Where do you put your toys?” “I don’t have toys. I live here with all my brothers, sisters and friends.”

“In such a small place?” asked Honey. All of a sudden a swarm of bees surrounded her.

“Stay calm they won’t hurt you. They've just come back from work.” Honey got so scared that she fell back onto the ground into a big puddle of mud. The mud went everywhere. On her clothes. On her bow. In her shoes and in her hair.

“I’m so dirty. I can no longer be a princess.” As Honey began to cry.

"I'm sorry" said Bee. Bee got all of his friends together and they flew into the bee-hive. When they came back out they were carrying a crown and a sceptre and gave it to Honey.

"What is it?" asked Honey.

Bee answered, "Honey we would like you to be our princess." "Really, even though I'm dirty."

"That means nothing to us, you don't need to be clean to be a princess." As Princess Honey took the crown and sceptre, she said "Thank you, I will be your princess." All the bees gave a big cheer.  And since then, no matter how dirty she got Princess Honey was princess of the bee-hive. She loved and protected the bee-hive.

And she never ever followed any of the Princess rules ever again, well except one rule-to never be stung by a bee.
